A funny event occurred where one of my old friend contacted me and it was great to catch up on what has been happening in our lives and to reflect back on some past events. The odd thing was that my friend told me that he actually knew what I was currently doing through a network of other friends and that he didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t contact me earlier as he was afraid that I would now consider him as a waste of my time since I run a business.<\/p>\n
I have often found this true in most type of situations where people feel that if they are speaking to say a CEO or Vice president of a company that the person is in this league of their own where they will only speak to certain people of their kind, so to speak. This is true for when people are dealing with someone who is well known publicly as well. For myself, I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t honestly say that I have ever been intimidated or star struck to the point where I feel that I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t talk to someone or that I would have to change myself in order to do so.<\/p>\n
A lot of people that I talk to who are in what many would consider a very admirable position find it a little irritating when people try to treat or view them differently just because of their success. I personally believe for the most part a person\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s character and personality remains the same despite what their current situation is and so in that sense everyone is just a regular person. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m sure everyone has heard the advice on how you should just act natural and normal in-front of say an executive.<\/p>\n
Granted there are some people who do have this enormous ego where they feel that they are too superior to associate with certain people, but even with that the odds are the person is like that normally, just in a different way. I know I would not have known or met a lot of the great people that I have if I kept viewing their professional title or success as a barrier from associating or doing business with them. Treat people how you would like to be treated and you may be surprised just how \u00e2\u20ac\u0153normal\u00e2\u20ac\u009d people really are.<\/p>\n
