The task for this episode seemed like a typical sales challenge where the objective was to sell ice cream sandwiches of sort to the general public with the team who makes the most money would win. The project manager for Octane was David and for Fortitude it was Poppy.<\/p>\n
For the most part there were pretty typical strategies such as people wearing costumes or trying to be loud to get attention. In that sense there wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t too much going on. However, the women team did something really interesting. Basically, towards the end they actually went up to the people that team Octane was trying to sell to and offered their potential customers free ice cream. Essentially, they were costing them sales. What a cutthroat tactic I thought.<\/p>\n
I guess the strategy worked to a certain extent as in the end team Octane made $1500 and team Fortitude made $1800. There was one eye popping moment in the boardroom though where in team Fortitude people were harping on Liza and out of nowhere Trump said that she was fired. He then clarified that he was joking, but it sure gave everyone a shock.<\/p>\n
In the boardroom it came down to Alex, James and David. It wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even too much of a fight as everyone kept saying that Alex was a weak player and he didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t do too much to defend himself. As a result, he was fired. At the very end of the episode though it was interesting as apparently shortly after Alex actually found a job. So, it ended up as a happy situation for him which was great.<\/p>\n
Interesting business tactics that came out of this episode. I did feel that Trump at times in the boardroom seemed like he was purposely trying to create tension for ratings. For example, he would make a big deal when he asked people if they thought they won and they answered in a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Yes indeed\u00e2\u20ac\u009d type of way even though they don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know the results yet.<\/p>\n
Basically, he would give them a third degree lecture on how you can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t say that as you simply don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know. Really, I could just say that is simply a sign of confidence. Almost makes me wonder if Trump ever made a quote in his life where say someone asked him if he thought his show would get super high ratings in a certain season with him then saying yes to it. Like with that example it wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t instill too much confidence in your product\/effort if you said \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for example.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
