Why isn’t it everyone else? And the other thing I was thinking actually, where this actually came up before, where there were politicians saying how they help an artist because they reduce things like taxes in these cases so they can keep more of their income. However, the reality is a lot of artists actually don’t make that much money. For example, in some cases they actually make, let’s just say, less than 25,000 dollars a year when it comes to artistic work.

So in that sense it’s completely irrelevant for this tax cut. If you don’t earn that much in the first place, then you’re already exempt. So it’s kind of more smoke and mirrors, I guess you could say. It kind of shows in many ways how out of touch a lot of people are when it comes to industry and fields that they’re not aware of. At the same time, when you think about it, if you were put in a position in life, would you rather make more money and pay more taxes, for example? Or would you rather make way less but not have to pay it? Like in this case, hypothetically, let’s pretend you only made about 25,000 a year and so because of that you don’t pay any tax.

Or would you rather be like, let’s just say in this case, an artist who makes 200,000 dollars a year and you have to pay tax on that? I’m pretty sure most people would rather be in the 200,000-dollar position and paying taxes. So it’s just kind of interesting how when it comes to politics in these cases, many times it doesn’t mean much for the average person. So even when it comes to a business, because when you’re an artist you are essentially running your own business. You have to rely on yourself, not on some government benefit or handout for the most part, especially with examples like these.

Today there was a lot of talk about how the federal government here in Canada apparently announced its budget for 2026, and one thing that actually came up, which is kind of interesting, as they announced how Canadian artists apparently won’t have to pay tax on up to 45,000 dollars of income, as it says, […]

[5
2135
post-19147","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-financial-management","tag-artist
["GET
