At the same time, many of Niantic\u2019s creative partners and content creators are defending the change. They say they actually like it because they never cared for the balloons. This has led to a lot of backlash, with people calling them sellouts who don\u2019t represent the average player. Critics argue they\u2019re just protecting their relationship with the company to keep getting free perks and benefits.<\/p>\n
It makes you wonder: if you were in their position, would you honestly side with the players even if you disagreed with the company, knowing you might lose those benefits and partnerships? I think only the most established creators with millions of followers could really get away with pushing back. For most smaller creators, it\u2019s just not realistic.
