I was thinking about something funny today. Usually, people tell you that you should never compare yourself to anyone else because, in many ways, you could be setting yourself up for failure if you’re constantly looking at someone else’s success when you haven’t achieved that yet. Their journey could be completely different from yours, so you need to focus on yourself\u2014and generally, that’s good advice.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, I heard another perspective: no, you should compare yourself to the best. The idea is that being a little jealous of them sets a really high standard for yourself. You now have something you’re actively fighting for\u2014wanting those results and that lifestyle. It’s a completely different mindset.<\/p>\n
I guess there isn’t really a right or wrong answer, but taking either approach to the extreme probably isn’t healthy. For example, if you never compare yourself to others or study what they’re doing efficiently, you’re not being productive. You should learn from people who are actually getting results. You shouldn’t copy them\u2014your situation is different\u2014but there should be a healthy balance. You still need to focus on your own needs and path.<\/p>\n
It’s kind of like saying one guy is seven feet tall, so he can reach the basket no problem. Another guy who’s four feet tall might be smarter and build a step ladder that lets him reach the same height. So you need that balance. It’s just interesting how different the perspectives are. And again, when it comes to this stuff, there’s no one right way. That’s what I was always taught when starting any type of business or venture.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
