Today, I received an interesting notice from the school I attended years ago. They were hosting a class and charging about fifty dollars per person. It seemed like a nice event for the community with some professionals hosting the workshop.<\/p>\n
It got me thinking: nonprofits like this usually need all the help they can get. They often have a large database of people they\u2019ve supported over the years who would likely be happy to volunteer. Yet, many organizations simply don\u2019t ask.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s surprising, because businesses are usually quick to reach out for volunteers or support when they need it. Nonprofits, on the other hand, often hesitate. It feels like a missed opportunity. When people have benefited from an organization, especially one that\u2019s given them something valuable for free, they\u2019re often eager to give back.<\/p>\n
In this case, the school likely has access to an incredible network: photographers, videographers, writers, social media experts and people with strong public speaking skills. All of that talent is sitting right there in their database, just waiting to be asked.<\/p>\n
