This was making a lot of people upset as apparently there was this advertisement recently that showed some steak on sale where one was from Australia and the other was from here in Canada. The price is mind boggling as the Australian beef is priced at $10.88 a pound whereas the Canadian one is $32.88 per pound. You would think it is the other way around as the one from Australia has to travel a long way to get here. It brought up topics like taxes of course.<\/p>\n
Although, do you usually expect the local product to cost less? Funny enough, I usually find the local items to be more expensive such as farmer market grocery versus stores that sell imported goods from say the US. The main selling proposition is not usually the price and how its cheaper but rather it should be better quality. So, it makes me wonder if that is the case here such as maybe the Australian beef is highly processed versus a potentially more organic product with the Canadian meet. Japanese Wagyu would be a great example of quality pricing.<\/p>\n
