It is the Easter long weekend here and it showed as there was a lot of people outside just walking to enjoy the weather plus a lot of people with bunny costumes. One topic that came up because of this is how even though there are certain holidays that people celebrate and usually this means employees would be paid statutory holiday pay to work on those days, not all of them are actually considered an official federal holiday to qualify for say extra pay.<\/p>\n
That then brought up the topic on how some businesses actually just self impose say holiday hours or extra pay for their employees to better adapt to the culture and lifestyle of the communities that they serve. That\u2019s kind of interesting as you would think most businesses would want to save as much money as possible. But it\u2019s not a bad idea overall as you are essentially investing in people and again the community you are in.<\/p>\n
At the same time, I know there are people who don\u2019t celebrate the occasion and to them it is just a regular work day where they don\u2019t expect anything more. A logical way to have a positive impact though as it can be just as good as holding staff parties as an example.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
