This was something to think about as a person was telling me how someone literally stole his music composition it seems as the other party simply replaced it with a different musical instrument which made him upset to the point where he wanted to take legal action. No artist likes to have their work stolen like that. While the legality of this is a different topic, the main thing about this one was whether or not it was even worth it to pursue anything.<\/p>\n
For example, even if he was in the right would he actually be willing to go to court against someone likely from another country as this stuff usually takes a long time? For example, if the guy actually fought it the case could drag out for years and cost thousands of dollars with a lawyer. That\u2019s common with lawyers too where if they don\u2019t see an immediate big payout option they will simply advise to leave it.<\/p>\n
A lot of it is due to principles of course. But money talks and if it makes no financial sense it\u2019s almost like just letting someone get away for stealing that five cent candy from your store. It sucks, but it\u2019s what makes sense sometimes and for you to just develop ways to hopefully better protect your work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
