He was saying how back in his home country a farm land is like a goldmine as you can pretty much live off of it and use it to raise your family for years to come.  Because of that too, it is important to teach the kids to maintain it as one wrong move could mean the loss of all your work.  Or as he put it, all of your wealth would be gone in a year.<\/p>\n<p>Kind of funny I thought in many ways as for most of us in North America our mentality is to make a lot of money in order to buy the things we need to survive as opposed to wanting things that will give us what we need directly.  I try to balance it personally.  Basically, for the stuff that I can realistically do on my own I will as oppose to paying others.
