I was thinking today that I may need to buy some new pair of jeans and as usual I looked for some kind of sale as I know clothes are those items that are often heavily marked up. So at this store GAP there were various jeans priced at almost $90 each but there was a ale where you could get them for a little over $50. You would think what a great deal right? Afterwards, I was aware there were some coupons that you could use and as you can see that dropped the price to a little over $22 a pair. Just think of that substantial difference in price. A $89.95 pair of jeans dropped to $22.40 and they still make money. Even the original total is alarming at $179.90 now dropped to $44.80.<\/p>\n
It’s a great visual on how much you ca overpay for clothing items where even the original sale price sounds great on a surface level but not in the overall picture when you know how cheap it can get. It\u2019s one of the first things I learned when shopping frugally such as how whenever you walk through the mall and the store says \u201c60% off\u2019 that can mean nothing where they simply increased the price to make the sale sound better than it is.<\/p>\n
You can argue coupons will make anything look expensive as you can literally stack coupons at times to make things for free. But in this case this is all store generated coupons and not from say a third party manufacturer which usually means they plan it in a way where they can still make a profit. But either way, it\u2019s a great method to really get it stuck into you on how much you can save if you simply wait for better deals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
