Here in Canada today a lot of people were glued to the NHL finals between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers. As it turns out, the Florida Panthers won and were the new Stanley Cup champions. One piece of news in regards to this is how a former Vancouver Canucks goalie here named Roberto Luongo was actually a part of Florida\u2019s team now as a special advisor to the general manger in Florida. So an internal role versus being a player on the ice.<\/p>\n
He was considered one of the best goalies in the league when he played here in Vancouver but he never won the cup which is what virtually every player dreams of. But because the Panthers won he now technically has won a Stanley cup and a lot of people in Vancouver are happy for him. It gets you to think even for business and work in general we often think there is only one way to achieve our dreams and goals. But as this demonstrates, there could be other ways to get exactly what you are looking for under a different role.<\/p>\n
It’s not easy being open minded like that of course as someone who has spent years training in a particular role will likely insist in staying with the path they envisioned.
