At first I was wondering if this was a joke of sort. But apparently it was a real comment from the CEO of Kellogg where the suggestion for families struggling financially was to eat cereal for dinner. That would definitely be in that company\u2019s best interest of course, but that doesn\u2019t sound like a good idea health wise in the long-term. For example, I showed you the other day of those cheap cereal I saw for under one dollar and they don\u2019t exactly look like the healthiest items to consume too much of.<\/p>\n

It makes you wonder if the person was actually thinking how that advice sounds to the general public versus simply thinking about the company\u2019s bottom line. It\u2019s almost in line of a salesman going up to a grieving family and saying how buying his products or services should help make things better. Cost wise though, I can actually find fresh fruits and vegetables at less cost than a box of cereal at regular price too if I was looking for a meal.<\/p>\n

A lot of cereal boxes cost almost five dollars and you could literally buy large sacks of potatoes for that price. Buying a large bag of rice is even cheaper in the long-term and is probably healthier. I can\u2019t see why a company would think making statements like the above is good for business overall. Unless all boxes of cereals were on average 99 cents a box then you could at least argue it makes sense money wise. Even on a budget just preparing your own fresh food saves a lot of money.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
