Recently I was having a discussion with a person about learning things like martial arts and how when it comes to teaching it a person can only learn so much by doing air drills by themselves all day. It showed too as people who have been learning for quite a bit of time always had difficulties when it came to actual application with real people. Initially, the thought process was they all had to just practice more by themselves. However, to me it was obvious that not practicing with other people frequently was the real drawback. For example, it\u2019s not the same when you get immediate feedback and pressure in dealing with another person.<\/p>\n
That kind of makes me think of how when people constantly spend thousands of dollars to learn a new skill simply through an e-course with no practical application it often ends up being a money drain where in the end they didn\u2019t become proficient with the new skill they wanted to learn. You need to spend just as much time actually practicing the skill you wish to learn and should be a factor I think when deciding to invest in money.<\/p>\n
For example, if you wanted to learn how to use a camera you could buy that $5000 course from the most prestigious photographer in the world on how to capture the best pictures. Or, you could spend say $4500 on actual camera gear to use and maybe a few hundred dollars to learn the basics in a safe environment. That might be more sensible as you can learn so much just by getting out there and start doing things in which you will learn from.<\/p>\n
I actually started to learn some new video editing software as an example where just doing something a little everyday had made me proficient with it. I did read some tutorials here and there, but most of the actual skill learning came from doing actual work with it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
