This was interesting to read as apparently the company Bytedance, which owns TikTok, was using OpenAI\u2019s GPT to allegedly train a competing bot dubbed as the \u201cChatGPT of China\u201d. Because of this, it is a violation of the terms of service for using OpenAI\u2019s tech which resulted in a suspension of services. Why this is really interesting is because there has been a lot of news of countries like the US accusing China of stealing their tech in which this wouldn\u2019t help that cause.<\/p>\n
As well, it makes you think if you ran these types of businesses that rely so much on data and programs would you ever be afraid of just licensing it out to any company for fear of a situation like this? The worst-case scenario is they would take your tech and create a clone which would create less value for your original work. But at the same time, being paranoid in licensing your service to large companies is probably costly. If you can\u2019t trust anyone then you would make no money correct?<\/p>\n
I can imagine the politics that would come into play as well for a business if they start picking and choosing which companies to allow to use the service without actual proof of a crime per se as one can then claim bias and prejudice towards certain businesses. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
