As many people may know writers in the US were on strike as they looked for a new agreement with the studios where AI was one of the biggest topics. The fear was for example studios could use existing work in hopes to teach it\u2019s AI how to write a screenplay to the point where human writers would be out of the job. So how did it turn out? Apparently, these were the points agreed upon:

\n5. Artificial Intelligence<\/p>\n
We have established regulations for the use of artificial intelligence (\u201cAI\u201d) on MBA-covered projects in the following ways:<\/p>\n
AI can\u2019t write or rewrite literary material, and AI-generated material will not be considered source material under the MBA, meaning that AI-generated material can\u2019t be used to undermine a writer\u2019s credit or separated rights.
\nA writer can choose to use AI when performing writing services, if the company consents and provided that the writer follows applicable company policies, but the company can\u2019t require the writer to use AI software (e.g., ChatGPT) when performing writing services.
\nThe Company must disclose to the writer if any materials given to the writer have been generated by AI or incorporate AI-generated material.
\nThe WGA reserves the right to assert that exploitation of writers\u2019 material to train AI is prohibited by MBA or other law.
