It hasn\u2019t been that long ever since Twitter had a drastic brand change to the name \u201cX\u201d as I can only guess Elon Musk has a bigger plan to integrate it with his other ventures such as Space X. Almost immediately on entertainment programs companies were already referring to the social media platform as \u201cX\u201d as I would imagine if they are a sponsor for a show then you need to get the name right. With that said, a lot of news channels are still actually referring it as Twitter.<\/p>\n
When they report on a post they would still say \u201cTwitter\u201d or a \u201cTweet\u201d as an example. It makes you think if that was the right business decision since the Twitter brand has been ingrained culturally for a lot of people in the same way where many people would say \u201cGoogle it\u201d when it comes to searching for something online. I am pretty sure in a few years with new generations growing up they will forget about the \u201cTwitter\u201d lingo. But this is one of those decisions where I would imagine the mass majority of people would never dare to do for an established brand. But for a multi billionaire I suppose one can stretch it out longer to achieve their desired vision.<\/p>\n
I personally even still type in \u201cTwitter.com\u201d to enter the site even though \u201cX.com\u201d opens the same site. It will be interesting to see if they will need to spend a lot more money to shift people\u2019s habit in referring it to Twitter still.
