There has been a ton of news recently about the company FTX which is a cryptocurrency exchange company and how it recently filed for bankruptcy amongst a lot of other questionable business activities. A lot of people were classifying it as a Ponzi scheme and then wondering how is it that the person got so much money and support for this venture?<\/p>\n
One topic that came up was how the ceo of the company, Samuel Bankman-Fried, was a big donor to various political figures. You have to assume that those individuals have the ability to directly implement rules and regulations where it would be good to have those people on your side. But what it does make me think is how businesses that are vocal about issues they disagree with because of say a politician can put them at a disadvantage compared to those who simply pretend everything is great.<\/p>\n
Is that something you are willing to do when running a business as an example where you need to do everything within your power to win over a politician in order to have that playing field advantage? I guess it would fundamentally be no different than say forcing yourself to get a manager on your good side in an effort to potentially get preferential treatment for things like a promotion. On a surface level most people would say they will always speak their mind, but in reality many opt to do what\u2019s best to earn money.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
