This got me thinking today as I was looking at a documentary which was entered into a contest where the stipulation was the film had to be using a product that the company makes. This could range from cameras to audio equipment. This benefits the manufacturers of course where if people see others using their products to create great pieces of work then more than likely others will want to buy their products as well.<\/p>\n
So why this one got my attention is that because this filmmaker used a lesser known brand it actually gave him more exposure in being able to compete in these manufacturer held contests. This is versus trying to stand out from a congested crowd of millions of users with more established brands. So that in itself can be an interesting business strategy for many where if a lesser known brand\u2019s product can do just as good of a job for what you need then maybe that is a good mutual beneficial relationship to use their products. <\/p>\n
I know some people would say it just means the person isn\u2019t good enough to compete with the best and so they need to resort to lesser known competitions. But these types of stories can be common in an artistic world where people have to go elsewhere that will actually support them first. Bruce Lee\u2019s story is a common one I heard where he pretty much had to make films in Hong Kong before North American companies would really take him seriously as the culture at the time just didn\u2019t give him the time of day really in a serious way.<\/p>\n
The bottom line is if there is a company that will go above and beyond to try and support your growth as well then you should highly consider supporting them as well even if they aren\u2019t as popular currently compared to others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
