There was a viral video going around of what appeared to be a person proposing to marry a girl at a live baseball game in Toronto. It didn\u2019t turn out as expected though because when the person went on his knees and brought out the ring it happened to be a ring pop candy. Right after the girl then slaps the guy as everyone is in socked over the event. Plus it was video recorded and shared on social media. The first thing to note though is this may be just an elaborate marketing stunt since the video itself appears to be branded to link to a certain company and the person who got slapped appears to be embracing his fame by labelling himself as the ring pop that that got slapped.<\/p>\n

With that said, it\u2019s the conversation about money and materialist items that was interesting as some people were saying how the guy deserved to get slapped for being so cheap whereas others were expressing that the girl was a gold-digger and he should be glad to find out now. It does make you wonder, is getting lavish gifts or surprises actually a mandatory requirement for people to get married as an example?<\/p>\n

Personally speaking, it just seems a little odd where something like an expensive ring can be the deciding factor as to whether or not a couple would get married happily ever after. I can understand people wanting to make sure that people have their finances in control as an example in order to live. But these types of scenarios seem a bit much if they are considered a deal breaker. There are even people who just get married with wedding bands correct?<\/p>\n

For example too, I know some people insist where if they get married they must have a lavish wedding that costs five figures as an example. On the other hand, there are people as well who just treat it like a party and would rather spend say ten thousand dollars trying to buy a home.
