It seems like most of the large retail businesses online have adopted Amazon\u2019s business model of allowing third party sellers to list products on its website where in the past companies like a Best Buy would simply be in competition with others. But even on the Best Buy site competitors are able to simply list their products for sale on its site where the business model now is they get a percentage of the sale.<\/p>\n
But this made me think how nowadays a lot of people who see a listing being sold by a third party seller on large retail sites may not be trustworthy such as you may be getting a counterfeit product. While it may be cheaper than the genuine item, that would mean potentially less reliability and no warranty provided. While that is true in many cases, there were some examples I saw of local computer shops where people would normally trust them completely to sell genuine parts if one walked into the store and started shopping. But that same business that is now listed on the large retail site with the label of being a third party seller makes people feel uneasy.<\/p>\n
Normally as a small business I would imagine they would think that they would not really need to do any marketing or branding anymore since they are listed on a large site. But like in these examples it\u2019s a constant grind for one to convince customers that they can do business with you. For these types of sites I would think customer reviews and ratings are extremely important.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
