Today I was surprised to read news of the company Snap that recently decided to release a small selfie drone where in only four months since launch it has been reported that they are exiting their drone hardware ambitions. I was thinking how quick that was and how much time and money they must have lost in getting that product to market. As well, I was wondering is that truly enough time to determine if your product was a flop or not?<\/p>\n
On the other hand, if ultimately it did end up as a flop then the business probably saved millions of dollars from investing into it too much. But imagine opening up a restaurant for four months and then closing it. I remember a barber shop I used to go to was lucky to get five customers a day as they recently just opened up shop. I noticed they started to hustle such as putting signs everywhere. It took about a year from what I saw until they started to get really busy as the key change it seemed like was pricing where it looked so cheap compared to others in the area that people started to give them a chance.<\/p>\n
Today they are charging standard industry rates and are frequently busy. So it could go both ways I suppose in terms of continuing or discontinuing a business idea that at first doesn\u2019t seem to have much life. I would imagine a small business would be more inclined to keep going since for many there is no second chances versus a large corporation that has a lot of fund set aside for new product launches.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
