I thought tis was interesting to think about where there was an event happening which seemed to be s mini festival of sort for bubble tea it seems. So to access this event you need to purchase a ticket which seemed to be about $20 or so and that doesn\u2019t include any drinks as you would still have to purchase them. That wasn\u2019t the controversy though where instead it came to when they posted advertisements on how they were looking for event volunteers.<\/p>\n
That didn\u2019t sit well with people knowing that the organization charged a price for people to enter the event. The only real response I read to this from the organizers was that this would be a fun event and afterwards they would give them a form of record that they volunteered for the event to act like a selling point to one\u2019s resume for future employment.<\/p>\n
Of course, that didn\u2019t sit well with people either as they found it exploitive. This is actually very common when it comes to artist and creatives where one is constantly asked to do things for free with the pitch that it would be great exposure as an example. In my opinion, asking for volunteers in these instances where it seems like everyone from the organizers to vendors are making money doesn\u2019t seem right. It would be different if it was like a community party where everyone can enter free or say if it was a publicly funded event like a parade which again everyone has access to it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
