I personally think this is a fascinating story about billionaires spending money. There have recently been a lot of talk about social media companies supressing information where the accusation is they only do this to specific viewpoints. As a result, billionaire Elon Musk asked a question to his followers on Twitter on whether or not they feel the platform protects free speech. At the same time, is a new social media platform needed?<\/p>\n

I wasn\u2019t surprised that a lot of people felt there needed to be change. But what I didn\u2019t expect to read is how Elon Musk has been reported today to have bought a 9.2% stake in the company which apparently makes him the single biggest shareholder in the company. They often say you should out your money where your mouth is when it comes to taking action on certain things. I guess he literally did do that.<\/p>\n

Now what this will mean overall is uncertain. But it seemed like by doing this the price of he stock went increased where he actually made a ton of money if he decided to sell it right away. In that aspect it shows you how quickly a person with money can make even more in an instant. But it\u2019s fair to say it seems like he made this purchase to influence the direction of the company.<\/p>\n

If you had all the money in the world is this something that would cross your mind where you fundamentally buy say ownership in a company to change it into a direction you feel is right? I would have thought he would have simply created his own platform. But it will be interesting to see If he creates anarchy of sort with the company now since he has so much shares in it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
