This is fascinating I thought as it seems business wise nowadays a lot of companies are practising a business policy of sort where anyone who creates views and opinions that counter what the organization believes in will result in one having their business privileges revoked per se. In this example, it seems like Google has issues a warning of sort for anyone who publishes information about Ukraine in a specific viewpoint. This is what was written in an e-mail to all publishers:<\/p>\n

This update is meant to clarify, and in some cases expand, our publisher guidance as it relates to this conflict.

Again, a lot more companies seem to be doing this. It\u2019s an interesting dynamic as these procedures seemed to have spawned competitors and have given them more attention for growth. What really fascinates me in these cases is when businesses decide to take a hard stance for a specific topic, what happens if they were wrong in whatever the topic may be?<\/p>\n

For example, to my understanding in the past there was controversy where people deemed cigarettes as perfectly okay to use due to how much control the Tobacco industry had over the information. So, if you were say a Google back then and took the hard stance that anyone who even suggested that cigarettes may not be good would get punished per se what would after in the event that Google was wrong?<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why it can be super tricky to not simply just be say the service provider like a utility of sort. There are some things that are more straight forward such as taking a hard stance against people making literal life threats to others or posting very graphic material. But for general conversations I think the answer wouldn\u2019t be so clear in this regards.
