That was guided based on health mandates where companies are simply tying to follow guidelines. However, that seems to be the grey area where people are arguing mandates don’t equate to the law. Therefore, firing people over a vaccination status when they have been employed for years as an example with no clause of this before is creating legal challenges where the former employee may win.

I am not a lawyer and you should consult with one for proper legal advice. But as I read more stories about this it definitely may come back to bite some companies. Before it seemed like the thing to do as a large percentage of the population here is vaccinated. However, in recent times with more data coming out the answer may not be as straight forward. I was even reading recently where certain health officials would have to get vaccinated or else they would be terminated.

It seems coincidentally, after some data have been released and challenges of basic science such as how everyone can catch and spread a virus, they appeared to have backed of from mandating health care professionals and now instead have tried to change it to a rule where one must make their vaccination status public so that patients can decide whether or not they wish to receive care from the individual in question.

So as a business it makes you wonder, should you ever fire people based on mandates if they aren’t actually laws for situations that came up abruptly? The S has a lot of interesting stories about this where it seems like courts everywhere are rejecting the idea that you can force vaccination on people. New Zealand is another place that has similar high court rulings it seems. I think the only safe direction would have been to try and be accommodating, if possible, versus just outright firing someone.

As the days goes by this seems to be a topic that has been gaining more attention where various organizations have been terminating employees based on vaccination statuses.
