While browsing around for some gift ideas for a younger audience I decided to stroll through Toys r US as you would assume there would be a lot of options there for kids. One funny thing was that someone was telling me how a child wanted a toy that did nothing it seemed other than when you hit the object it makes a sound. So she wanted to get something that actually had better value.<\/p>\n

So while walking through the store I saw these Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots which oddly enough I thought the child would actually like as it would be in the same vein of a kid wanting to get their aggression out in a fun way. But upon looking at the section all the items appeared to be discounted due to some kind defect. Primarily, it seemed to be packages that have been opened and may be missing an item.<\/p>\n

Looked at the price and it seemed to be listed for about $20. To me that wasn\u2019t enough to justify buying an incomplete product. Just checking online it seems like you can get one for about $30 or so brand new.<\/p>\n

Which makes you think, how much of a discount does one really need to provide to encourage the consumer like myself to get this over a new item? I would think it depends on why the person wants to purchase it. If it\u2019s just to use for the heck of it then maybe that discount is enough. But as a gift as an example I would probably only see that as like an add on item since it isn\u2019t a complete product. Hence, that item would probably have to be under $10.<\/p>\n

That doesn\u2019t make sense mathematically in many ways for the business, but that\u2019s how I would personally think from a shopper’s point of view. In that regards it depends how badly you actually want to get rid of the item as a business too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
