This was fascinating to think about in regards to how a simple name and brand identity can sway people to buy your product or not. The story I read dealt with the company impossible foods which essentially makes non meat products taste and look like meat. Beyond Meat is another company that comes to mind that does the same thing.<\/p>\n
Recently they released a pork product which of course doesn\u2019t actually contain any pork but it I supposed to taste like it. That should give vegetarians an option to eat pork per se without actually going against their diet. That was the interesting thing as where I was reading how people who normally avoid pork for religious reasons are still opting not to consume the product. Apparently the reason is simply due to the fact that the product has the word \u201cpork\u201d in it. As a result people would still feel like they are literally consuming pork meat when they are not.<\/p>\n
Even they were telling the company to simply stop using the word pork and they would probably open up sales to a large market. I guess this example shows that branding and perception mean a lot to many versus actual facts about a product.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
