This seemed to be everywhere where Britney Spears was going to court in order to get rid of a conservatorship that has been controlling her life for so long. I never looked into the topic too much but this is apparently gives another person power to make decisions for one\u2019s life due to the person not being able to themselves for whatever reason. For example, making financial decisions for an elderly individual who no longer has the cognitive ability to make rational decisions themselves.<\/p>\n
The person that has conservatorship over her is her own dad too which makes it an even crazier I think. Because for so long she has continued to work but never really had the ability to make decisions herself. I was reading how there were even clauses that she can\u2019t have a baby of her own. People often talk about writing a will before they die so that there are no and ifs or buts on how the person wishes all their money and properties to be divided.<\/p>\n
With stories like these though, would you ever try to think of an alternative as opposed to a conservatorship if you absolutely needed someone else to make decisions for you financially and all?
