So I was recently looking for a gift for my niece as her birthday was coming up and there were some items I thought she would enjoy such as a video game. But a lot of them were new releases and were actually quite expensive to the point where it could easily be about $90 or so after tax. I was then thinking this could potential spoil her where getting these gifts.<\/p>\n
I\u2019d like to think usually in order to develop an appreciation for the items you get from people you have to in a sense have an understanding for how much they spent as well. As an adult you would understand if you got it as a gift if you were eyeing it as an example. The only other way a child really gets the same sense of value is if they say walk through the store with their parents and seeing a toy they want. However, they are then told by the parents it\u2019s too expensive as an example. So usually with situations like that one would actually appreciate the monetary value of the gift if they got it afterwards.<\/p>\n
During these times though a lot of people aren\u2019t exactly browsing through stores like usual due to virus restrictions. So it makes me wonder if kids don\u2019t get to see things like a price tag at the store as much anymore it would mean they wouldn\u2019t really value a $30 toy versus say a $5 one? Or do parents nowadays actually browse through say online stores with the child in the same manner as they would in the physical store?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
