There was this comment I read not too long ago about a large chain store that had a pricing error for one of its product. Essentially, the product was tagged at a certain price while it scanned at a higher one. Since the amount was below a certain price value, because of that error and the retail price scanning policy the customer should get the product for free.<\/p>\n
Interestingly enough, I then saw a lot of comments about that and how many people wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t actually try to get it for free as they would be too embarrassed in doing so since the product was only for a few dollars. In a way, I suppose they would feel embarrassed in trying to enforce an industry policy if it turned out that the cashier will end up giving them a hard time.<\/p>\n
I can understand someone fighting over like say a penny difference, which I have seen before actually, but a few dollars here and there can definitely add up and there shouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be anything wrong in requesting to receive that benefit. Otherwise it is kind of like playing a scratch and win that won you $2 and not wanting to redeem it because it is too little.<\/p>\n
I personally think the persona of a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153cheap person\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is a bit silly in these scenarios if that is the issue. Even from a business point of view the goal in doing that is to earn the trust of the consumer that they are being accountable for their errors and so you shouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t feel strange\/embarrassed in taking them up on their offers like that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
