Many times when people have a small business in which they want to offer the products for sale online they immediately think of creating an e-commerce site just like the big companies as it\u2019s what you have to do nowadays in many ways to generate business. If they don\u2019t have much knowledge in the online space they end up hiring people for thousands of dollars to create that perfect site. But this made me think as today I was having a conversation with a person who had that mindset where in the end it actually sounded like he could benefit more buy selling his stuff on established sites instead.<\/p>\n
For example, if you are a small artist there are sites like Etsy that enable you to sell your work and it would be on a site that has a lot of the target audience you may be looking for. That can make more sense than investing thousands in building and promoting your own site initially where it can be almost like you are trying to compete against that large site. You could instead use their system at first where when you get big enough then you can expand further with more ease.<\/p>\n
This can be true for other sites like Amazon and Best buy as well. You could literally nowadays post your products on their sites to sell your items as a 3rd party vendor. Again, it\u2019s like you are getting a ton of pre-qualified customers immediately. Granted they will take a percentage of your sale versus you getting everything if you sold it yourself, but this can be a better way to start. So before trying to do everything yourself research the platforms you can easily take advantage of.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
