Today while I was outside flying the done for fun a couple of kids came up to me as they were fascinated by it. One of the reason was because apparently their parents where going to buy one but eventually didn\u2019t. According to them it was because mom and dad thought it was too much money. So for fun I asked if they thought it was a lot of money as the item was about $500 and they said they did not. It made me wonder as for me at a very young age I thought my parents spending money on any kind of restaurant was expensive in general.<\/p>\n
The reason for this is because I would always be with them when they went shopping and there you can see the price of all the items they are buying and how much we got at the end of the day. Seeing 2 litres of soda for 99 cents versus a small cup for $1 at a fast food restaurant for example immediately gave me the appreciation for the value of a dollar. It makes me wonder if taking kids shopping for your weekly groceries is truly the simple way to teach some financial literacy at an early age.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s technically free to do in a sense and gives people the opportunity to make smart purchases to get the most out of a dollar. I actually remember that grocery shopping was actually a homework assignment at one of my courses in high school and I was thinking doesn\u2019t everyone do that all the time anyways with their family?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
