Today is officially Canada Day and usually that means a lot of celebrations and large crowds. Unless you have been living under a rock none of that was possible due to the pandemic and guidelines about crowd gatherings. So the country as a whole for the most part held virtual celebrations such as streaming live performances and pre-recorded Happy Canada Day Messages. It should be a good thing overall I suppose.

But funny enough it seemed like most people I spoke to didn’t even watch any of the streams. That seems to be the case when you like at the view numbers too on various videos. Some people pretty much just treated this like any ordinary day it seemed as well. Unless you are an outdoorsy type of person. That seemed to be the common theme for people who went outside still where they were away from large groups but still enjoyed the day.

I suppose it’s one of those debates on whether or not a liver experience can be replicated in a digital format. I know people were saying VR could be the next thing that people use to make it feel like you have front row seats at an event as an example. That hasn’t really taken off by the looks of it. Something to think about before spending thousands in trying to host such events yourself.
