With the recent announcement of the emergency funds program here in Canada $500 a week for those who qualify should be a lot to help pay the bills and essential needs. With this money as well I have seen many people advocating others to spend this money on smaller local businesses even though it may be more as they need support to stay afloat. This seemed to spark a fire with many people where they then said their priority is survival period which essentially means they will shop wherever makes the most sense.<\/p>\n
I guess another way to think about this is imagine you had no job and was on income assistance such as welfare. Would you spend $3 to buy the same milk at a local store versus a bigger corporation that sells it for $1? Like there it would seem like the noble thing to do is to pay more to support local, but in this case it\u2019s so much trickier as the money you are getting almost means you don\u2019t really have the luxury to spend more than you have to many would argue.<\/p>\n
I think the general thought goes where if you are debt free and earn all your own money then you can spend it however you please. But in times where you are essentially given money to get back on your feet you kind of need to try and do everything possible to get back in the position where you are self-reliant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
