With the new year\u2019s approaching starting or ending a business is probably as common as people having fitness or relationship goals. For people who have been doing a particular business for a very long time one would often contemplate if it is time to close things down and either move on to other things or retire. What was a little surprising though is how for many people who have a profitable business they would literally just end it. My first thought would be why not pass it off to someone or even sell the business since it is profitable?<\/p>\n
The only common reason I heard was that since the person built the business from ground up that it simply wouldn\u2019t be the same thing if they weren\u2019t there. For example, the years of reputation that they built for the business could be obliterated by a different person where the company will then be remembered in a not so good light. It makes you think though, is that a valid business reason to just axe a business permanently?<\/p>\n
I know as a regular consumer I would never associate say a current owner\u2019s bad decisions to the past owner overall. If anything it would just be a compliment to how the previous owners were a lot better. It just seems like such a waste financially in so many ways. As well, the other side of the coin is you could possibly see the business you started continue to grow and evolve long after you are gone. Isn\u2019t it better overall to give it the opportunity to keep growing?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
