I saw a fascinating yet common scenario the other day where a person ended up having to do all the work himself where normally he was in an environment where he would simply delegate tasks to other people. So as you can imagine when he had to do things himself he was completely lost and go frustrated very easily when he couldn’t figure things out. What was interesting to me was how people offered to teach him how to operate the items but he kept saying how his job in life was to get other people to do it.

While managing is definitely a skill that not everyone is good at it’s just kind of amazing when I see people have this kind of mindset as if learning the work that they tell others to do is too beneath them in life per se. I would imagine too hat you could be a better manger in many ways if people know that you can actually do the job very well if you had too. It should increase respect where the person is not just telling people to do things that they will never do themselves.

I think it can be important if you are starting out a business too as many times people get caught up believing that they need to hire and outsource everything right away to “feel” like a business. That’s not how a lot of people started as they literally were the only employee.
