While passing by some signs for large businesses it was interesting to see that the signs explicitly say that the business is independently owned and operated. I always assume that is supposed to be a positive where people feel that the business is just like any other locally owned business that you could proudly support. Except in this case it has the backing of whatever company it may be. But the other thing it got me to think about is if one franchise in your area is terrible do you personally treat that as independent? Or wouldn\u2019t you say the company as a whole is terrible?<\/p>\n
Many times people don\u2019t seem to differentiate good or bad services from a franchised company independently. In that case if you happen to be running under a franchise it\u2019s almost like you still have to in a sense work harder to fix the error of someone else. That probably makes it even more important to try and rank high in places such as local review sites where if someone had a bad experience with the company brand then seeing all the positive reviews for this particular place may still change their minds to visit.<\/p>\n
I had an experience like that before when I worked for a company where it was notorious that a lot of people only focused in getting commission and were not knowledgeable about the stuff they sell. That stigma was what most people associated the company brand as. But for the place I worked at I was super knowledgeable and passionate about the industry. I started to read online comments where people were telling others that the store I was at was the place to be if you wanted knowledgeable people in the company. So it showed that it can be done but you definitely need to work harder. Many people will treat one bad experience with a brand as a general overall judgment of everything else attached to it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
