I was recently hearing how a person wanted to jump into a certain field because he knew people who have been taking it seriously for over a year and has been doing well for themselves. So as a result he now wants to jump into the mix as well. As you can imagine since he is starting out he is getting virtually no attention from the general public. Because of this his strategy was to go to virtually every community and group he could think of that could related to what he does where he would then promote his stuff to.<\/p>\n
This literally consisted of him spamming his work everywhere while in a sense faking that he was interested in other people\u2019s work in an effort to get people to take notice to him. In the end though it felt like most people saw through all that where he was simply out for himself. I was thinking how if he really wanted to get attention and support then trying to find a way that he could genuinely contribute to others in a positive way wold be more effective.<\/p>\n
For example, instead of just spamming his work he could instead take the time to genuinely learn what others do and offer some kind of value to them. As weird as it sounds maybe he could tell others about other people\u2019s great work which in turn is more likely to get one\u2019s attention for them to see how they can help him afterwards.
