It was interesting talking to a person that really enjoyed farming and gardening where he was saying even though it is a lot of hard work to him since he is passionate about it everything seems fun. He also showed me the cuts and scars he would get having to go through things like thorny vines. While a person like myself would think one should find a more efficient way to say harvest items he was expressing how things like that makes it feel more normal per se.

The reason this got me thinking is because there are plenty of old school ways of doing things where with modern day solutions you no longer have to risk injuring yourself as an example. However, to many people it just doesn’t “feel right” as if they aren’t really doing anything as a result. Therefore they prefer to just do things the old way.

It may sound silly but that is actually a very common barrier I find on why people don’t simply implement all of the great solutions to make their operations more efficient. Makes me think personally where whenever I am reluctant to use a different solution if it is truly due to it not being better or just me simply being used to an old way of doing things in a hands on sense.

I guess the best analogy to see why it is a struggle for many is like saying if your goal was to get to the top of a mountain it’s one thing to actually climb up there and another to be flown by a helicopter and then landing there.
