Today I had a funny conversation with my mom where she was saying she wanted to buy some stuff from the store and I mentioned that I could buy it. She then said no as she wanted to buy it because she gets store points for it. Essentially she would save about 60 cents in doing so. But here was the thing. Technically if I am buying it then she saves way more because the item for example is $5 which is more than the 60 cents she would save. Despite that she still got extremely wrapped up about getting more points into her account.<\/p>\n
Funny enough I have seen this happen a lot with people where it seems like they overlook the whole purpose of the points which is to save you money. That usually results in people just buying stuff for points even though the sale price isn\u2019t that great. Maybe that is the plan for companies knowing that people will do that huh?<\/p>\n
My other thought is this shows you how powerful it can be even for your regular saving account to constantly checkup on the numbers as it can act as motivation to get you to want to increase it. In many ways it\u2019s probably necessary too so that you don\u2019t forget when it comes to points you should still look at how it hits your bank account first.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
