A person today was telling me that he has been subscribing to this newspaper service for years and that recently the company has been introducing him the digital version of its services where you can get the news online instead. It was a little cheaper by the sounds of it.
He was then saying that he wasn’t too enthusiastic about it as for one he preferred to read off the paper and at the same time thought that the value was better as with the newspaper he actually got something tangible.
This kind of reminds me of the debate about those digital books like the Kindle where you can purchase books digitally. A lot of people I talk to say that it is just not the same as having the actual physical book and money wise they seemed more enthusiastic about actually having a real book that they can hold.
I guess it’s just a matter of time before people will get used to digital products like these. Even for myself I find books to be a little weird in a digital format. For the news though I find it a lot better reading it online. Although, the funny thing about the news is that you can pretty much find every news for free nowadays I’d say. So paying for like a newspaper is something I would think twice about personally.
