Heavy Wind Tears BC Place Stadium’s Roof

I know the winds were strong here today, but this was sure a surprising piece of event. The roof of BC Place Stadium got torn off due to the heavy winds and some other factors that are not exactly clear yet. Now since BC Place Stadium is an air-supported dome, the top has been deflated as a result. This is what the stadium looks like now:

As expected, there were some rumblings on whether or not this incident would cause any doubts about having the 2010 Olympics ceremony at the stadium, but generally speaking the tone seemed to of been a it’s better that it happened now so that we can prepare for it later type of attitude. No harm was done it seems at least which is good.
