It’s been known for awhile here where port workers are on strike where everyday that passes the economy is getting hurt as nothing is able to get on the shelves. While that is unfortunate, many people support the worker’s strike. There are talks ongoing of course, but what was fascinating is that apparently what was attempted to alleviate the problem was to transfer these containers from Vancouver to Seattle where in hopes they could unload them down there to be transported back up as a work around.
There was a twist though as apparently worker in Seattle were aware of the strike and so they refused to unload any containers that were rerouted from Vancouver as a form of solidarity with the workers. Even I must say that is how a group of people makes a strike effective when everyone is behind a common goal.
I know many times even businesses try to get some kind of change but usually it ends up flat if not everyone is on board. For example, if one company refuses then another would often take over as the contract is too lucrative to pass by. Similarly, the only real way it would work is if everyone refused the work.
