Giving Advice Without Proper Experience

There was so much stories today about a person named Mia Khalifa who made a video essentially saying you should just leave a relationship if you are not happy even if married a person. The controversial part was how many times she mentioned that she had been divorced or broke off an engagement while at the same time people have brought up her background as an adult porn actress. All these factors got people to criticize her advice as irrelevant.

But what it did get me to think is how there actually are a lot of people who make a business this way where they give advice to others when in reality their own past experiences don’t really add up to someone who seems qualified to do so. However, with that said there is often an audience for such advice as many times people are looking for anything to address whatever issue it is they are currently facing. The worst-case scenario is that they take thousands of dollars from people.

I think the main way to protect yourself is to try and find those who are in a similar situation as you are. Otherwise it’s like getting financial advice from someone who says they live without the need of owning say a vehicle in any form when in reality they get chauffeured as part of their job. Not exactly the same as a stand nine to five worker right? Or like in this case, just marrying and divorcing people so quickly probably isn’t going to be cheap when it comes to dividing assets and other things. Like there, I think the better advice would be to take your time and make sure that whomever you are committing to is actually compatible with you and your lifestyle for the long-term.
