There are many times people often expressed how they wished they started younger in developing whatever career path they are currently pursuing as those who did often have a competitive advantage. For example, if one wanted to play piano for a living I am sure starting when one was younger would be ideal. But what about things that seem silly such as the simple idea of taking family photos? For example, there are so many examples in recent times of things such as time-lapse photo of kids growing up. It’s always fascinating to see but what was interesting is how stuff like this provide the child with a compelling resource they can use if they wish in the future to help jumpstart a venture.
For example, if one wanted to work in social media this gives them something compelling to create. Imagine starting a social media presence where you are pretty much guaranteed to have say one million people looking at your work. Or, just the attention and notoriety can help the person stand out for other opportunities. Is this something parents should be thinking about versus just having the child take lessons of various categories?
In some ways I would say yes if the whole point is to try and give your child all the advantages to succeed. There is a risk that the child simply won’t be passionate about certain things where your efforts will not be utilized. But in some cases like the time-lapse it can be good just for memories too where it would be better to at least have it.
