I was reading some stories today of people who use spraying drones for agriculture where the regulations are going at snails pace as it is technically illegal to use drones for such applications in many instances that are perfectly legal with other flying tools. Because of that, many are opting to use it anyways and if regulators are going to take them to court they apparently are going to welcome it. The argument is it’s already legal for similar applications which means they will have a tough time arguing them using a drone is different.
That comes down to technicality of course. But it’s interesting when businesses openly do this as you would think they would have a lot to lose if they are convicted just based on the technicality of the law. It’s a huge gamble either way. At the same time, I guess they could be looking at how they are losing a lot of time and money as well in the meantime for not using the drone.
It wouldn’t be advisable to do that of course. Oddly enough too, history has shown it’s those types of people that forced regulators to change the laws. Would you dare to do that though?
