One complaint that has been rising recently is how with the release of a new computer processor from AMD many people were excited about the speed and performance of the next gen tech which also seemed reasonable price was. So while people were ready to upgrade, a lot of people were surprised to find out that the computer parts such as the motherboards for this CPU will be astronomically high compared to its predecessors and competition.
Imagine the motherboard costing more or close to the price of the CPU which would be like wanting to buy new camera where the memory card is more expensive than the camera itself. I’m sure for those who don’t care about the money and just want the best would buy It still. But for everyone else it’s a hard pill to swallow. A lot of people are thinking of just going with a different setup.
Those add-ons can be a deal breaker which many people don’t factor in. It’s an important factor to always keep in mind as you can get yourself in some bad debt by not looking at the long term cost of ownership as an example. It may not be a big deal for these types of items, but imagine doing that for say a real estate property where all you focus on is the location and sale prices versus everything such as the monthly expenses and annual property tax.
Getting into the habit of calculating everything even with small purchases can help you to make it a habit so that you don’t make investments that end up costing you more.
