Archiving And Cleaning Up To Save Money

Recently I was thinking of buying a new hardrive for the computer as the prices seem to be extremely cheap for large drives such as a one terabyte hardrive. When I was thinking about it though, while the amount of space I currently have is pretty minimal by today’s standards, technically I could free up a lot of space by simply burning a ton of files and documents to multiple DVD discs. However, that seems a little repetitive and like most people my initial thought is to just buy a larger drive instead.

Though, this immediately made me think on how just because you can doesn’t necessarily mean you should when it comes to buying things. This is how you easily end up buying a bunch of unnecessary things too that end up cluttering your space and costing you more money. This is true for a lot of other things too.

So because of that I am holding off and just opting to do it the longer way by archiving some old stuff and getting it off the drive.

This applies to much more than computers. I often collect lots of random junk I’ve only used once. Not sure why I bought it in the first place but it seemed like a good idea at the time. 🙄

It’s always good to clean things up. Recently my wife and I moved into a new house. We threw away so much junk. Lots of wasted space and money.

Speaking of wasted space in a house, I once saw one where an entire upstairs room was literally filled with sheets of old paper. You could see it outside from the windows too.

Guess they decided to use the room as a recycling box or something and was too lazy to take it out. Now that’s a waste of space.
