Not Needing A Professional Service

Sunday, February 17th, 2013 by

Today I met up with the person whom I was gonna try this new venture with at a Lawyer’s office in hopes to be a little more formal in regards to solidifying our agreement. We did have everything written out and so this as more about the both of us signing off and using a non partial third party to verify. The funny thing was the firm was saying there was no real need for their service at this rate since everything seemed to be in place. Therefore, we simply went off to use someone that one of us knew personally.

That was kind of funny I thought as I figured in those cases most businesses would do the job regardless of how simplistic it would seem. Either way, some money saved in the beginning I suppose.

Extra Income And Spending Some Money Finally

Monday, January 9th, 2012 by

Forgot to update this back during the Christmas time. I recently decided to actually spend some of this money that I have been accumulating. To start off I got another cheque which added more funds.

So what did I decide to do and buy thus far? Well, just like my original thought about all this I just wanted to do things that interested me and see if naturally you can then generate an income out of it without actually worrying about it too much. I can say that definitely happened here.

Now the other thing that I was always semi interested in trying for fun is that since there is a lot more video publishing platforms nowadays I thought creating videos would be interesting. So with that in mind, I decided to invest a a new production suite with this side income. The main one that came to my mind was the Adobe production suite. As some of you may know, this thing costs a lot of money where as you can see here it costs almost $1700:

While I have enough funds through all this to easily pay for it, using almost 50% of one’s fund didn’t seem too appealing to me. So naturally that got me thinking if I should just settle for a more home user type of software or at worst just use the free software offered in most operating systems. I really didn’t want to do that though as I know from experience in these types of things that the time and features can end up saving me so much time. So instead, I was pretty set into buying that but wanted to find a deal.

Sure enough, I was able to find one as the company itself was having a special discounted offer which apparently they rarely ever do. With this discount, I was able to get the software with tax for $973.78 US.

That sure shows how a little research can save you so much money too huh? Overall, great price I thought and it sets me up for all the tools I need to start something. It kind of fits in good too considering I bought a new DSLR way back as you all remember just for my own personal use. So maybe I can find some good use for it.

The main hurdle with this I think is going to be as always instead of over analyzing in how and what to do in terms of an idea that the important thing is to just do something. Here is the updated numbers as a result of this purchase:

Money Made:

Stock Investment: $800
Web Publishing: $2432.29
Million Dollar Term: $100

Free Money and Credits: $100

$1000 Google Adsense Payment

Set it and forget it? I was chuckling at this a bit as I haven’t been paying too much attention to this in awhile. To brush off the cobwebs a bit, I have been trying to find different ways to generate an income as an example of how there are so many things to do out there where the main error that people do is just not doing anything at all I say. Web publishing was obviously one method I have been using and Google Adsense was a program I used.

I haven’t been really paying too much attention to it and low and behold the account generated over one thousand dollars. More specifically, $1031.27 as you can see here:

That isn’t exactly a rags to riches type of thing at all as I know you can make more if you actually dedicated yourself to it. But that sure gives you a clear example on how just doing something can generate the return in the long run. In this case it was pretty nice too as I didn’t really need to do anything different as I found a way to adapt it into what I enjoy doing.

Looking back at what I have accumulated so far, it just dawned on me that I still haven’t thought of what to do with these funds yet. Again, the purpose is to explore other ways to generate an income as well that can fit various lifestyles.

Here is the tally so far:

Stock Investment: $800
Web Publishing: $2130.13
Million Dollar Term: $100
Affiliate Sales: $91.01
Free Money and Credits: $100
Loose Change Savings: $209.23
Selling Items: $55.64

Total: $3486.01

Money So Low You Forget About It

Friday, February 5th, 2010 by

I was very surprised to get this in the mail today. By the looks of it, this payment is from a company that I have tried awhile ago in regards to an affiliate program. The return didn’t seem that great and so I went on to other stuff. As it appears, I guess I had a year end balance that they decided to send. As you can see, it was for $3.19.

Usually for these types of things I set them not to cash out unless more than $50 has accumulated. Cause like with this it is almost a waste to receive a payment this small. I was looking at the postage too and it looks like they paid seventy five cents for it.

I know I haven’t updated this section in awhile, but that’s because I am actually accumulating funds to try something new. But I guess I will add this fund into the pool:

Stock Investment: $800
Web Publishing: $1098.86
Million Dollar Term: $100
Affiliate Sales: $91.01
Free Money and Credits: $100
Loose Change Savings: $209.23
Selling Items: $55.64

Total: $2454.74

Cashing In US Cheques Is Like A Stock Game

Thursday, October 1st, 2009 by

So I got a Google Adsense cheque in the mail today for the amount of $209.12. As usual, it is in US funds and since the Canadian dollar is lower that means I should technically get more. The thing is, over the past few months the dollar has been going up and down so quickly where cashing these cheques at the right day could mean gaining or losing a few extra dollars.

It might not seem like much, but it does add up and is one of those things that it is good to develop a habit for I’d say. But as usual, for the sake of number tracking I am just going to tally up the total based on the figure on the written cheque. It looks like I finally broke the $1000 mark with the web publishing category. Not extraordinary I’d say, but again it shows that if you just do it things can add up.

Now whether or not I really want to think of ways to make it like a full time type of operation is up for debate. Though again my intent was to try and find as many different things to do as possible.

Stock Investment: $800
Web Publishing: $1095.67
Million Dollar Term: $100
Affiliate Sales: $91.01
Free Money and Credits: $100
Loose Change Savings: $209.23
Selling Items: $55.64

Total: $2451.55
